A good road trip starts with pace. Decide how many hours you are comfortable driving each day, then work backwards to choose stops. Shorter days leave room for detours and rest.
Next, think about who is travelling. A family with children and luggage needs different space and break frequency than a group of friends. Share your group size and luggage with your driver or planner early so the vehicle matches.
Finally, keep a little slack. Weather, road works and tired travellers are normal. A plan with one flexible day feels far calmer than a plan with none.
